A female impersonator from Newcastle has won a top award at the UK's dance "oscars".
Simon Green, aka Betty "Legs" Diamond, is one of the UK's best known female impersonators with more than 30 years of dance and choreography experience.
He has performed in Japan, Egypt, Portugal and the West End and now works in Newcastle.
He won the award for Theatre Coach/Choreographer of the Year in the Carl Alan Awards.
Simon has been a choreographer and a performer in tandem since he was years-old, paralleling the two different careers.
He has spent his life being someone else and even had to change his name to Nicky Andrews because there was already a performer with his original name.
He said: "It was strange because everybody started calling me Nicky after 20 years [of being Simon] and they'd call me in rehearsals and I wouldn't turn round because I couldn't compute that
