          George Christopher Bell

          George Christopher Bell, 78, husband of Betti Campbell Bell of Travelers Rest, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

          Born in New Bern, NC, he was the son of the late Albert Robert Bell, Sr.

          and Sheila Nelson Darden.

          A graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, George was the founder and president of Bultman-Bell Insurance Company. He later sold his business to and became area chairman for Arthur J. Gallagher Company of Chicago.

          In addition to his wife of 23 years, he is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Bell Burke and her husband Matthew Burke, and Jennifer Nelson Bell and her husband Gary C.

          Bell; five grandchildren, Madison Burke, Christian Burke, Joshua Bell, Emily Bell, and Georgia Bell; and brother, Albert Robert Bell and his wife Connie Bell.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert D.

          Darden, Sr.

          A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown
