          Johnny, a photojournalist by trade, and South Dakota's 2015 Photographer of the Year (PPA),  has won many awards while shooting for the Rapid City Journal in South Dakota, the Associated Press, and the Miles City Star in Montana.

           He has done contract work for over 35 different national magazines and newspapers including the L.A. Times, Newsweek, Time, Country, Western Horseman, USA Today and Denver Post. In 1995 he was named Best Photographer in S.D.

          by Eyes on You Magazine, and in 2004 his work and he were featured in American Cowboy Magazine.
